Director of Applications

The Role & The Team

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Applications to lead our Applications group.  This group is responsible for ensuring the success of Adeptrix customers, owning pilot programs, providing technical pre-sales support and developing new data bioinformatic tools to better enable customers to analyze and interpret data.   

The Director of Applications will have a proven track record of accomplishments in the life science industry. The successful candidate is likely to have a background in immunoassays, protein assays, proteomics and/or bioinformatics and significant experience in an early-stage life sciences company.  She or he will report directly to the CEO and will be involved in shaping company objectives and will lead efforts to achieve those objectives.  

Responsibilities & Goals

The Applications group is focused on ensuring the success of Adeptrix customers and developing new bioinformatic and computational tools to support those customers.  Areas of specific responsibility include:

  • Manage all aspects of Applications at Adeptrix
  • Oversee development of new bioinformatic tools to better enable customers to analyze and interpret Adeptrix data.   
  • Own all aspects of pilot and KOL programs and act as primary point of contact with early-stage customers to ensure customer success.
  • Oversee creation and presentation of data packages to customers.  
  • Provide technical support in pre-sales presentations to potential customers.   
  • Capture customer feedback and work with leadership team to develop new modalities of using Adeptrix technology to meet customer needs.   
  • Hire and manage the Applications team 
  • Travel to scientific conferences.

Background & Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of accomplishments in academia and the life sciences industry. The ideal candidate will have had significant experience working in Applications in an early-stage life sciences company. Candidates must bring independence, strong critical thinking skills, an entrepreneur approach and a “team first” mentality.  

Key requirements include:

  • PhD (or equivalent) in relevant discipline such as proteomics, molecular biology or bioinformatics
  • 3+ years working in Applications or a related area in a commercial organization
  • Experience independently managing a team and achieving ambitious goals.  
  • Extensive experience interacting with customers and leading customer success in a life science organization.  
  • Experience working in a nimble, fast-paced startup environment 
  • Experience managing bioinformaticians and overseeing complex data analysis 
  • Experience with mass spectrometry and proteomic research is highly desirable
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, with demonstrated experience in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to independently and collaboratively lead a team, while meeting scheduled deadlines
